MARITIME OPERATIONS STATUS UPDATE – GCC REGION

United Arab Emirates

  • Fujairah Port (FOTT): All berths at Oil Terminal 1 (OT1) and VLCC jetty are operational.
  • Khorfakkan Port: Fully operational;container operations proceeding normally.
  • Jebel Ali Port: All terminals operational and handling cargo.
  • Hamriyah Port & Port Khalid (Sharjah): Both ports are open and operating normally.
  • Khalifa Port (Abu Dhabi): Open and fully operational.
  • Ruwais Port: Operational under ISPS Security Level 2.
  • Ras Al Khaimah Ports: Open and operating under normal conditions.

 

Oman

  • Port of Salalah: Gradual resumption of operations following a recent security incident; some constraints expected due to crane damage.
  • Port of Sohar: Operational with standard procedures and precautions in place.
  • Port of Duqm: Fully operational; handling containerized, general, and project cargo.

Qatar

  • Major ports (Hamad, Doha, Mesaieed, Ras Laffan) are operational.
  • Hamad Port: Fully operational; handling container and general cargo.
  • Doha Port: Operational.
  • Mesaieed & Ras Laffan: Operations ongoing.
  • Al Ruwais Port: Restricted to small craft, dhows, and barges.
  • Security Status: Operating under Level 1, with heightened vigilance advised due to regional tensions.

Kuwait

  • All ports are fully operational.
  • Shuwaikh and Shuaiba Ports are operating under Security Level 2.

Saudi Arabia

  • Arabian Gulf Coast (Dammam, Jubail): Ports operational. Recent incident near Ras Tanura was contained with no disruption to port activities.
  • Red Sea Coast (Jeddah, Jizan, others): Operating under normal conditions.

Bahrain

  • Vessel movements have resumed; however, operations remain limited due to current conditions.
  • Security Level remains at Level 1.
  • Airfreight operations and crew changes are significantly impacted by airspace restrictions.

General Advisory

  • All ports across the region are prioritizing essential cargo, including food, pharmaceuticals, and critical supplies.
  • Operators and vessels are advised to maintain heightened vigilance and adhere strictly to port authority and security guidance.
  • Delays may occur due to increased inspections, security protocols, and regional developments.
